Pathology scientist

The Pathology scientist is responsible for coordinating all activities of China Pathology Research, collaborates with breeders and leadership in developing a strategy to characterize the disease response of key breeding lines and hybrids in nursery and yield testing field, develops disease screening protocols, monitors / maps disease incidence/severity, and provide support of disease diagnostics for other functions. The scientist selected for this position will be based at the China Zhengzhou or Changchun breeding station with responsibilities for corn pathology operations across the China breeding footprint.
Key Accountabilities:
?	Lead and develop team members responsible for all technical aspects associated with pathology-related activities.
?	Designing research and implementing protocols to enhance CSI’s corn pathology efforts.
?	Characterizing of disease reaction of pipeline hybrids and inbreds to various corn diseases, as well as disease monitoring, diagnostics and surveys, and data reporting.
?	Designing and managing field trials focused on characterization of germplasm for disease reactions and discovery of sources of disease resistance.
?	Managing pathology operations responsible for pathogens collection, inoculum production and disease inoculation.
?	Interacting across various organizations within CSI to coordinate pathology-related trials and to communicate results in a timely manner.
